Mustang Mare
Hello,
I was wondering if you could help or direct me.
I'm sure my story isn't unique or anything, but last May, my daughter's trainer and I picked up a mare and foal from a "Mustang Breeder" that could no longer afford to take care of their horses, (the trainer wanted the foal). Sadly they chose to turn out their Registered Keiger Stallion with all the other registered mustangs and soon all the mares were pregnant and within months there was no more food. ALL 18 mustangs were boney thin! Sadly there were 5 or 6 babies, yearlings, 2yr olds and mares. The people were warned by the Humane Society, but just because they showed a receipt for hay, gave whatever excuse and there were no further visits, etc., etc... I'm sure we've all heard the stories...
Anyway, I sponsored the mare by providing feed and whatever care she needed. She went to live with the trainer on 22 acres, green pasture, excellent care, extra food, and they both became healthy. Since she was right down the street, I visited twice a day, fed extras and worked with the mare a little.
Weaning time came 2 weeks ago and the trainer had me go ahead and take the mare. BUT I really don't have the facility or the funds to keep her.
I'd like to re-home her. Do you take Mustangs like her?
If you don't, can you direct me to someone who does?
I'm in Wilsonville, OR and would be happy to deliver her to someone who understands these special horses and is willing to give her a chance. She IS registerable!
She's at least 15hh, 6-7yrs old, very smart (as all mustangs are), probably not alpha, she communicates clearly to me and treats me like another mare or foal. I can halter her, pick-up all her feet, clean & file them, clean her stall and paddock without any threat and she gets in the trailer with a bucket of grain. She seems to tie fine, but I don't know how much work she had. I put a saddle pad on-off-on-off-on and she walked around with it on just fine. That's about as far as I can go with her.
I've attached some pics.
I look forward to your guidance,
Glenda

Black Horse, Green broke 11 years
This little girl is green broke we were told. She is 11 years old and is a beautiful horse. I believe that she is a Morgan and he seemed to think that she has great bloodlines. However, she is a little shy and scared at times
If you would like more information on these two horses please email me (Kelsie) at kpatka@cpyr.org or equine@cpyr.org. The gentleman who is trying to find homes for these two horses has 13 horses on 1.5 acres. He is looking for good homes and is willing to give these two away. We do have a lady who is willing to help transport any horses if that would help. However, I am unsure of how far she is willing to go at this time. Please let me know if this is something you need.
Very thin appy in Bend
This little guy we think is about 20 to 25 years old. He needs his feet trimmed and also needs to gain a bit of weight. We are not sure what kind of horse he is… he possibly has some Appy in him. Supposedly he is completely broke and a very kind guy. - However because of the amount of snow on the ground and coming down we were not able to see anyone ride him. He did pick up all 4 feet well and seemed to be a very kind little guy.

Sweet Boy
Hi All
This email is from one of my boarders. This is a horse she used to own. The current owner needs to find him a new home (long story short, daughter lost interest). She is willing to give the horse away to a good home. Please pass along to anyone who might be or might know someone who might be interested. Or, if you're interested contact me or Melissa at the Samoyed13@aol.com address.
Thank You!
When I got Sweet Boy he had previously been started by a young woman who had used him at the Clark County Fair for the sheriff patrol and as a lead line pony at a kids camp and on trail ride competitions. After a year of that, she returned him to his owners who let him stand around for a year until she convinced them to sell him. She gave him a tuneup and I bought him. He turned out to be too green for me but he is really a nice tempered horse and does have some training. He is just rusty.
For a while I leased him to a 4H'er in Washington and she wanted to buy him but was going out on her own and couldn't afford to own a horse. She took him to several shows. This is them.
I always rode him western which he does better than English. Has a very nice jog trot.
After that lease, he went to stay with my friend Kathy while we put him up for sale and she worked with him. He was very rideable when we sold him to the woman that is currently looking for a home for him. But after just a couple of months he ended up basically turned out to pasture again.
Here are some more pics of him. These were taken when I bought him as a 4 year old. He is now 7 or 8. I think 8.

Nevada Mustang
Hello,
I have a 9 yr old Nevada Mustang who is a little on the short side. He was given to me. Unfortunally my son has shown no interest in him. He is broke to ride stands for ferrier, but since he has been out in the field with my other horses and neglected he seems to be reverting back to his old ways.
I'm not even sure if your foundation works this way, but i would hate for someone to take him and he not go to a good home.
Please call me with any questions 541-451-1238 home or 541-570-5865 cell twerho@centurytel.net email
Thanks for reading Tracy
